The little planet hung in space, silently spinning in the vacuum which surrounded it. It was a green world, with oceans, lakes, plants, and animals. On it had arisen a race of intelligent beings, not unlike us, who lived and laughed and loved and built much like we do. They constructed for themselves a civilization, and made their tiny buildings and tiny cities and went about their tiny lives in a way which, I am sure, was meaningful to them, but had no impact on the universe at large in any real manor.

From this, it would seem unlikely that such a world would attract any attention from the universe at large. This would be largely correct. In fact, the only remotely important thing which ever occurred to this tiny world happened purely by chance, and completely unnoticed by the greater forces that caused it. Such is the way of this universe.

It is unclear how, exactly, she appeared. It doesn't really matter, I suppose, in the long run; she did, and that was that. For the first few moments, it wasn't clear to the people what exactly had appeared. Like a slowly rolling shutter, the picture which met their eyes was a long time in development. Long before her slightest detail could be seen to them, their scientific instruments began to detect a steady increase in the local speed of light, and there before them spread gradually but increasing in pace the beginnings of her perfect visage. It took nearly twenty seconds more before the whole of her pupil could be seen, another twenty for the rest of her face. Shock spread across the planet in waves as the tiny people realized what, exactly, they were looking at.

Something so beautiful and graceful as she, the perfect white goddess who appeared to the tiny world then, had never been seen in all of the universe around her, and scarcely imagined. Her power as well, so great upon her, was unmatched and unparalleled by any known structure. Her form was equine, adorned with a glistening alabaster horn on her head and a unfathomable lush purple mane of indescribable beauty. The infinite ocean of her immaculate blue eye, itself stretching nearly a light-year across, stared down unfeelingly at the world in front of her.

There was no way she could notice them, so small to her they were, and the people of the planet began to shake with fear of the indescribable goddess who stood before them. Though nearly half of a light-year separated them from her, such a distance served barely a noticeable barrier to one of her impossible power. The people begged the goddess to spare them, to let them serve her for now and forever, to allow them existence before her untouchable might.

She swished her tail slowly, two unfortunate stars caught in its fibers and torn apart without notice behind her as Rarity, the exquisite goddess of beauty that she was, looked out over the universe before her. She had no notice of the tiny world trapped in her gaze. It was much to small for a being of her caliber to heed or care for. She sighed, slowly running a hoof through her mane, whole star systems flattening on her precious white hoof without her regard or care. Against her flank a nebula was effortlessly and thoughtlessly sheered, half lost in her gorgeous coat while the other half hung listless and broken above her cutie mark. The perfect goddess sighed.

Slowly, the great eyelids of the goddess slid close, blinking in a protracted motion which lent itself to her massive size. For the tiny world, still begging beneath her, this motion brought on a wave of panic, as the end drew into them with no chance of escape or survival. The people prayed, hoping against all odds that they might avoid what seemed an inevitable fate.

The tip of her eyelash brushed through the star system, more than ten billion kilometers thick, effortlessly ending the world that lay before it. She neither heard, nor felt, nor ever knew of her action.

Her eyes blinked open, and she sighed again, casting her gaze about the universe around her. Rarity couldn't help but feel a little disappointed at the lack of stimulus in the area. Perhaps she would find something significant to do elsewhere? She was starting to get bored with doing nothing but look pretty, as well as she might pull it off.

Rarity - Currently 7.5 light-years tall. Disposition: Bored.

Yes, I know most of you aren't interested in a action/adventure coming of age story. Here's a little bit of macro pony for you.
